David & Shannon

I recently was able to spend some time with David and Shannon Gainforth, who are coming up on their one year anniversary! One of the best parts of couples sessions is that you get to know people better. We spent roughly 2 hours hanging out, and we took some photos at a few different locations in the Hampton, NB area.  I got to learn about what they both are up to and a bit about their families, which seemed more like a coffee date with some friends rather than a stressful photo session trying to get shots before the sun went down. These two made my first ever “couples session” a breeze and they were amazing to work with.

I will never forget this session being my 1st. There’s lots of things I’ve already picked out that I wish I did better but I was overall pleased with how things turned out. I am still at the stage where I am “finding” my style so consistency is something that will become more prevalent as I shoot more and more couples.

For those interested in couples or engagement shoots I provide a fine art mix with adventure photography, which I am drawn to from a mix of my own favourite photographers. If you are wondering why couples are rarely or never looking at the camera or smiling, that’s from the fine art posing side. Finding beautiful landscapes in New Brunswick is not a tough challenge, it just takes some preparation to find the right time with the best light.
